Bonnet Stuck !!

Of all the times to have my bonnet stuck shut!!! on a positive note I now know my washer bottle sensor works

I've trawled the forums and got some useful ideas but most involve destroying the front and/or bottom grilles which I'm loathe to do... and I've tried various combinations of tugging the handle/cable and smacking/bouncing & tugging the bonnet with no luck... so does anyone have any 'non-destructive' options I could try...?

Yes, quite, my vx local garage would suggest a part exchange upgrade.

My vec used to do this, it may work

Try pulling the lever in the car, whilst banging top right corner of bonnet or have a mate do it

"pop" that used to get mine open

Mines doing it too all the time at the moment. I stuff a cloth behind the lever to hold it open then go round and lift.

The cable may have strecthed, pull the lever enough to get a pair of pliers onto the cable behind it and gently pull the cable until it (hopefully) pops

This is very easy to fix too, you just need to adjust the tension on the cable, unfortunately the adjustment is on the slam panel under the bonnet. Get someone to gently push down the centre of the front of the bonnet where the catch is whilst you pull the bonnet release handle. Go gentle on the bonnet as Aluminium does not pop back like steel does.

when you finally get it open ...........you need to lubricate the HOLE !!!!!!!!!!!

I have the same problem, except I think the cable has come of completly
