What difference does age make ? If an estate is appropriate for your requirements it would be silly not to buy it. I was given a 2.0 Toyota Cressida estate in my 20's by my dad, sick of me visiting in wrecks, tail made a handy take away packaging disposal unit, cleared out weekly or if I expected (rarely) passengers. Or you could go Ian-Highlander's route, check his estate threads.

bought my first estate @ 17 (astra 1300s) and had 8-9 since (amongst other cars) I just prefer the look of the estate.

i had an estate when i was 18, cos i discovered that they were cheaper to insure than other stereo typical young person cars, I had a mk6 escort 1.8 ghia x, and insurance was cheaper than my 1.1 fiesta i'd just sold

Lol, mine's nothing special (yet). It's a standard 2.0T estate that's had a lot of TLC recently, some angeleye headlights and the quad catback exhaust. The ICE system will be the main thing when it's done worth talking about until I can afford to buy the grill, skirts, rear valance, wheels etc for it.

Thanks for the compliment, but there's much nicer out there than mine at the moment

The only good thing on mine is all the options I had added when I bought it new, but there are "some" out there with the options on, you just have to be patient.

Although I know where to come if I ever want to sell it

No way to young . In Norway when vectra B was arrive it was marketing this way:
-Estate for young people with active interest who need a car with good space
-Saloon for older people who want to have a elegant car
    - CC for people with kids. Its easy to lift the perambulator in to

    So go for the estate
