What terrible news to see first thing on a Monday morning.
He was one of my dads favourite actors due to his crazy antics in the Naked Gun movies.

That is sad, was just watching Scary Movie 3 which had him in it. I tend to remember him most not for a commedy role, but for acting the captain in the classic Sci Fi film, 'Forbidden Planet'. This film to a large extent influenced Star Trek, and was actually redone as an episode of classic trek. So in a way he was the original Captain Kirk!
Loved the naked gun films when I was younger, still watch them again if they are on. RIP.
