No longer have the vec but my mate has a vec diesel 2.0 dti and has got a dash symbol that looks like a tank with fluid at the bottom and a filler neck.. any idea what it means.. obviously something is low.. but what? Is it coolant?

Sounds a bit like the coolent. Is the coolent level low in his motor. Might be the washer bottle needs topping up, I forget what that symbol looks like though.

That is the warning for your washer jet bottle I think rather than coolent.
