Remote/central locking issue with driver door

Hi all,

Just got myself a new Veccy C, well new to me anyway. My second Vectra (first was a '97 preface B) and 4th Vauxhall.

One issue which is annoying really rather than serious...

When I lock or unlock the car with the fob, the drivers door does not lock/unlock.

i.e. if all the doors are locked and I use the keyfob, the other 3 unlock but the drivers door stays locked...the reverse when locking, the other 3 lock but the drivers door stays unlocked.


Can still use the key to open/close the driver door but to be fair it kinda defies the point. If I set the alarm and open the drivers door with the key then it sets the alarm off like I'd expect, until I put key in ignition.

It's a 1.8L SRI, preface (52 plate).

Any ideas? I've no doubt a Vauxhall dealer could fix it but I'd rather take it to a garage I trust (and can afford!) and say 'I have this problem, here's the replacement part, go fit it'.

Loose connection somewhere?

I'd start by checking the wires that enter the driver's door by the hinges, if all looks ok, try removing the interior door trim and check all connections there are ok :-)
