    Default Help bleeding the heating system on vectra c 1.8 ls

    Has anyone got any step by step pics on what the do to bleed the coolant system as i think i might have a air look as the heaters in the car are only coming through warm

    What temperature is the engine running at? White s few members have had to change their engine thermostat as they are keeping the engine temperature low

    Shouldn't need to bleed it as it's a self bleeding system. The expansion tank is above the engine for a reason - that's where any air in the system will end up.

    What might be wrong is one of the servos on the heater has stuck. You'll need to remove the glovebox to check.

    Didn't know this as when i changed my thermostat i took cap off and ran car upto temp to get rid of any air in system

    As you say, that is the correct proceedure. Forgot to mention about removing the cap.

    As any air ends up at the highest level of the cooling system (ie, the header tank) it can just vent out the tank.

    Ive done thattaking the header tank lid off and ran it to temp and the temp on the car goes up just above 80 and stays there but the heaters in the car is still only warm ive also put a new stat in it and flushed the matrix though and checked the flap under the glove box and every thing seems ok and what i should be no over heating but still no heaters working right on 1 they are hot but put iton 2 3 4 they then cool down im frzzing anyone got a clue before i take it to the dealers and have to remorgage the house to get it fixed
