er i would of thought diesel not oil maybe wrong though
What would this mean and 1 of the glow plug is tight what would be best wAy t get out as dnt wonna force it
They do tend to seize in place at times the metal and corrosion welds try some release agent on them to soak in.
It was thick black oil and when taking a glow plug out it was hard at first then went easy and won't come out now. I cudnt get to the 4th ecause of the turbo
dont like the sound of hard then easy & now wont come out! sounds like your on the way to stripping the threads!, caution time!!!!.
iv always been told , never touch a glow plug untill it fails. they last a longer than spark plugs.
Well they were very bad took about a minute to start car today and did not sound healthy for the car. And I changed 2 today
If you mean oil over the outside of the glowplugs and it is a CDTI 150 then it is likely to be leaking inlet manifold swirl flaps blowing oily soot over them.
If you mean on the tips of the plug then that is a different matter as mentioned above.
As these plugs tend to stick/seize perhaps rather than not touching them they should be removed each service and given a lick of copper grease and replaced?
its a 2.0DTI not CDTI and the oil looked to be all over the glow plug, only changed 2 and it has not made any difference, i changed the 2nd and 4th. the 1st was to hard to get to as i was freezing and did not want to do any more, and the 3rd one i think may have snapped :/
Anybody know why there could be oil there and is it bad?
Thanks
