Pull off the strip of trim that runs across the dashboard; it's just clipped in, so start at one end and pull it all off. Then you'll see the screws that hold the centre vents in place. As for fixing them, there's a fair chance you can superglue the broken bit of plastic back together.
what side of the screen do you have a broken vent..?
Put a couple of thin strips of card over the break then soak in super glue. I did mine this way a few months back and they're still good.
Thanks lads will give it ago hope I don't snap it looks flimsy .... And it's the right hand side of the screen .... Kev
In mine, both the drivers side, and the drivers side of the screen vents have broken. They seem to be very flimsy, the missus broke the one next to the screen just by closing it, and the drivers one was broke when I was cleaning the vent.
Are there any uprated versions I should be on the lookout for? I see that the one in the middle seems to be an easyish fix, is it the same for the drivers side one? Up until tonight I was sue I'd have to take the dash apart
I took my bust passenger side on out and hot-glued the bottom slat, thought it may have failed witht he cold weather then heating the car up, but it's held together ok
Here's a pic of how I fixed mine, the arm for the bottom slat is flimsy but for some reason it has a small semi-circle cut out so its only a couple of mm thick. Both of mine snapped where the cut is.
yeah i broke the drivers side one by cleaning it, got a replacment from a salvage yard, takes 2 minutes to fit it.
