    Default Diesel Filter leak

Was sorting out my egr problems this morning and noticed that there was diesel dripping from the bottom of the fuel filter when the engine was running. I have checked the two pipes going in and they dont appear to be leaking, but think it may be coming from the bottom of the housing. Is there a sensor on the bottom? Any ideas if you can lift the whole unit out? I was wondering if a sealing washer has gone?

    Any ideas welcomed!!

    Car is 1.9cdti

excuse my ignorance but how do you mean nip it up? I can seem to lift the entire housing up so far but then it seems to stop. It also only seems to leak when its under pressure, i.e. with the ignition on or when running - although just been on a run and it appears to have stopped.

Just changed my Diesel Fuel Filter today and noticed the housing was loose in the surrounding cage (old filter was absolutely minging by the way.... it made the one in the forum how-to look positively virginal)... anyway... when I got the housing out I noticed at the rear there was allot of broken sticky-out plastic bits .... well the filter is now changed and the housing is wedged into the cage with cardboard to stop it rattling ....

...so lee gsi... if sri150 doesn't want/need the housing you have.. I may be interested...
