They have them in Spain and use them a lot. Not sure if they work though.
Snake oil I believe mate.
Not sure that would work I mean is limescale magnetic?
The only people who swear these work are the people who sell them and the people who spend £60 on them well I suppose I wouldn't admit to wasting that much either...
Well i think there is some truth in the fact that they work. I live in a limescale area, and was recently given a kettle with a so called "limescale magnet" in the bottom.
Just checked it after reading this post, and there aint no limescale in my kettle! The other one i had, i used to get flaky bits in my tea!
Might be worth a punt if you can find them cheap mate.
My mates a plumber and he's got them on his water main pipe comin in. He's shown me old copper pipe work he's taken out from old houses, 15mm pipe with the inner being about 8-10mm due to limescale, so yeah i think theres an advantage in using em in limescale areas.
There is nothing scientific that would cause this, ie magnetic collection of limescale
Equally, for the volume of limescale collected you would need some method to remove it from the magnetised area
However, what these devices can remove is Iron Oxide, which can damage boliers, radiators, heating devices, washing machines, kettles, etc
The device should have a filter which is removed after a period of between 6 and 12 months
