    Default Tie rod replace

    Hi lads n lassies.

Today i was planning on changing both tie/track rods, as the driver side wheel has wobble and the tyres are bald on one side. All was going well - wheel off track rod off gator off no problems, However when i got to the tie rod this thing is not for moving, adjustables no chance, tried hitting the ball joint a little to loosen - still the same. Phoned around for a removal tool phoned a garage round the corner and they kindly leant me a wrack wrench. still not for budging i think the person who put it on welded it lol. Or at least thats what it feels like.

So had no choice but to put it back together with new track rod and old tie rod, what can i do? I didn't want garage to change them as i need to save where i can. any suggestions more than welcome.

yeah the one i borrowed is similar in design to that but a much cheaper version, that one looks more solid and probably have more sucess with that one. lot of money to gamble with though.

come to think of it, when you use this do you go the opposite way from what you would normally do. ie if i was slacking a nut id go anti clockwise as normal but if slacking the tie rod with this would i go clockwise to slacken it? just a thought.

Aye the driver side one came out no problem luckily this is the problem one. So will make do with the old one still on passenger side. Will get that one into a garage after Xmas when more funds available. Alls left to do is put it together and off to get wheels and alignment. Cheers lads.
