Default 'Safe Guard' message (Codes inc)

Since buying my Signum I have always had the 'Safe Guard' message.

I have read the codes and this is what I have got:

Total number of fault codes: 3

B2955 - Anti Theft Warning System Sensor Datalink Circuit Low Voltage or Circuit Open
    (06) - Present

B2955 - Anti Theft Warning System Sensor Datalink no Communication
    (0F) - Present

    B3916 - Powersounder Malfunction
    (39) - Not present

I have replaced the ultrasonics with a working one from a member on here and the Power sounder one can be cleared but comes back now and again.

How do you replace the power sounder? Do they need coding to the car if I get a second hand one?

    Try setting your alarm off...

Sounds to me like someone has tried the "make your alarm louder" trick

This entails just unplugging the power sounder in the boot / load area, so that the car uses the Horn(s) instead.

If your sounder is present and fitted, try checking the multitude of fuses in the rear fuse box.

It may also be that the power sounder was unplugged due to a flat sounder battery - this would result in the alarm going off randomly... usually at three in the morning.

    So the options are: -
    1) Sounder Unplugged
    2) Blown / missing fuse
    3) A final thought - BCM or REC or DIS have not been programmed fully to recognise the alarm as "present" in the variance coding

I too have been suffering from random alarm activations - the codes are the same as above -

B2955-06 - Anti Theft Warning System Sensor Datalink Circuit Low Voltage or Circuit Open

B2955-0F - Anti Theft Warning System Sensor Datalink no Communication

B3916-0F - No communication with alarm siren.

So is it the Ultrasonic module that is goosed? I did try the car with the Ultrasonics switched off from the instrument panel - I guess the unit is probably still powered up though.

If the unit is goosed, is it easy to change and rough cost?

    Thanks

    Lindsay
