Default 1.9 cdti 150 now poor economy

Last week my alternator packed up, so ordered a new one, the car was sat with the battery disconnected for about 7 days. Put the new alternator in and all runs good.... except it seems to be using ALOT more deisel than before (about a third of the tank in 100 miles!)
Before all this i was getting 600 miles to a tank so something must be wrong. Does the ECU reset itself and needs to settle after the battery is off for so long?

    Any other ideas??
I have checks all fuel lines and cant see any leaks

Might be worth mentioning its a 06 model with 50k miles

Hi my cdti 150 also had to get the alternator changed about 4 weeks ago, my diesel seems to be fine, just cant get rid if the spanner on the dash, hoping for it to reset itself soon, was it a side garage or main dealer who replaced it?

600 miles to a tank? that is still pritty poor TBH

Might be worth running some redex through system, then after using all contaminated fuel (diesel with redex in) then have fuel filter changed

600 miles poor, I have only managed over 600 miles once and that was last weekend on a long run. Normally get in the low 500s.

My economy has dropped now we have the cold weather. Takes so long to get upto operating temp, if you aren't doing long trips economy willl suffer.
