just gone and brought a cambelt kit for the cost £150 and a further £80 to fit godd price??

The labour cost is about right, iirc VX get around 2.5-3 hours to fit them

Just make sure the "entire" work required for a cambelt change is completed, hence why the labour on this job is so high
The cambelt change itself only takes about 1.5 hour, but the rest of it takes a further 1.5 hours
