    Default Odd tyres

Just got a Vectra and noticed that the 2 front tyres don't match. One is a Michelin Energy Saver with 5mm tread and other is a brand new budget brand. Both rear tyres are recent Michelin Energy Savers.

Truth is it's bugging me that the front tyres aren't the same. Wife says 'don't be daft a tyres a tyre why spend money' I say tyres are important and should match!

I could just put on 1 new Michelin (£95) or replace both fronts with Kumhos (£120) which I've used on other cars and been very happy with. There seems to be a thriving used tyre market on ebay so could sell old ones to subsidise cost.

Or I could just save cash and run with whats on til they wear out (with my constant niggling doubts) plus I swear the car's pulling to the left slightly (the budget tyre side) but this may be due to road camber etc. or just in my head!

I would like to know if there are other people like me who would change perfectly good tyres for peace of mind or am I just being daft and wasting cash. I know I should have more important things to worry about.

I would be thinking about changing it too. Different tyres do cause a pull to one side, so its probably not just in your head. Id go for the two Khumo's and try and ebay your current ones!

I would agree all four the same is good or atleast have the 2 fronts matching in one brand and the rears in another. Kumhos are pretty decent tyres and hear nothing but good comments about them.

One good and one budget isn't a good mix, I'd go for two the same.

Well I'm officially a tightwad! Realised I could get a budget tyre to match the new one already on (Primewell PZ900) for £60 all in. Had it fitted this morning and seemed just as bad in the snow as any other tyre I've used! I've kept the Michelin to use at a later date if needed.

not as tight as me, I would have both rears on front, fronts on the back, and lived with the odd tyres on the back

That's what most normal, sensible people would do but I'm a bit weird and it bugs the cr@p out of me having odd tyres. Oh the money I could save if I could just be normal!
