Default The name of one tiiiny little part!

    Evening all.

In an effort to stop my parcel shelp rattling around, I tied two knots in the strings that hold it to the boot lid. This worked perfectly however one of the little screw on parts that you push the piece of plastic with the string on over has fallen off and I can't find it. Does anyone know what this is called? The rattle is now back!

Which end of the 'Strap, Load Compartment Cover' are we talking ?

Attached to the parcel shelf or the tailgate ?

The parcel shelf end connection seems to be called 'Clip, Load Compartment Cover, Centre, Anthracite' - 24455455

The end on the tailgate itself,it goes onto a screw thread. One either side of the boot lid. I'll get a photo tomorrow.

Sounds like the black plastic receptor for the cord from the shelf ?

As for the shelf rattle. Mine was driving me nuts. I found that the rubber end pieces on each end of the shelf were not meeting the plastic on which the shelf sits when the hatch is down squarely.

I repositioned the rubber end pieces so that they meet the plastic absolutely flat, and superglued them in place. No more rattle.

Funny how such a small fix can make such a difference. Going over a bump, I only hear and feel a dull impact, rather than a rattling sound.

It also helps if you put some tape around the cylindrical retaining lugs that hold the shelf in place behind the rear seats. Stops them working loose at that end.

Hope that helps (and makes sense).

Right I have been and got a couple of photos to clear it up.

Might as well whack up a couple of photos of the car too. I'm happy to take the award for probably the dirtiest car on the site!
