'As', if im in the mood!, & 'when' i can be arsed!, to be honest i find now its a fairly easy job for me but just fiddly, when in started & doing the job i dont mind doing them its just a bit fiddly, i work nights so you know how it is & the large workshop in the how 2 for the manifold job is in use on saturdays, as for the £, the parts for this job should be no more than £200 inc gasket (1 manifold & 1 gasket) a few jubilee clips & a donation for my efforts!.

Vauxhall dealer quoted me £650 all in for this using genuine parts!

i tried to claim on my rac warranty for work done to replace exhaust valve due to carbon build up....guess wot....carbon build up an exemption under warranty....total price £780 at local dealer.After a conversation with the dealer and the rac i asked the dealer why vx were replacing part with a revised version so as to erradicate chances of happening again.

This is actually admitting that the original part was inadequate,i asked if vx would make a contribution towards the costs.They checked on the service history which was full vx history.Then contributed 95% towards the cost of parts....Saved me £400 :-)

Still feel it should have been a recall situation.

If there is oil/gunk round the plastic swirl flap bits then its leaking. You can normally smell it in the car too.

Yes,can smell that too!!.It's not too bad at the moment,but like any problems with cars,and vectra's in particular,it will only get worse.It's going in for a major service in January, so I will be taking the issue up with them about the duff design,etc, etc. FELIXX.
