Default Revs stay higher longer than expected

Hi, Not sure if its an issue or not but when i rev the engine high,it doesnt come down quickly again. 2.0 turbo petrol

When driving it can become difficult through gear change as the revs are still higher than my other cars ive owned, could it be the butterfly or air flow meter, would it be covered on warranty as it runs out in Feb?Other than that it drives lovely and starts every time and ticks over spot on.

Mine does this too mate, I think you'll find its a Vec/Sig thing as my old 2.0T did exactly the same. It is rather annoying cause it makes you sound like a learner driver and makes it awkward for a quick gear change.

you got it in one dude, felt like a right nob other day lol going off the lights at speed, went for second gear and it was still in the 3000 plus range, then i got serious talk steer

i don't drive it as much as i should as its the wife's car and when we go out its, astra vxr or this????
, if its food shopping it's the vec.lol.
although i couldn't bear it if it got bumped, still park a million miles from other cars,

I had a similar issue with my Vec B supertouring and we found the butterfly on the top hat was sticking slightly where it seals, so might just have a quick look at that if its got one of course.

I think you'll find its actually the design of throttle, i'm sure i've heard it called "fly by wire" or something, I think its meant to do it.

Could also be due to the weight if the fly wheel.

What mines does.... It drops revs quickly, but pauses for a split second at around 2500-3000rpm then drops to idle very slowly.

It's probably to make gear changes smoother.....

That's what mine does! I was beginning to think I was a rubbish driver ;-) If I shift under 2200 rpm it's smooth, and over 4000rpm smooth as well, if I catch it in between it can really stutter badly.
