    Default NVQ advice

I work as Assistant Manager for a well known transport company in West Midlands for the last 14 years, Last week i had a interview for District Managers post i was informed yesterday that i was a close second and the only thing that stopped me getting the job was a lack of a business qualification
The chief exectutive was very impressed with my interview and told me the next post would be mine if i went on a course he suggested a NVQ level 3 in business management which he said the company would be happy to pay for if i send them the details
Its been a long time since i set foot in any learning institute unless taking the kids to school counts im now in my mid forties
My question is ive done quick search on internet for courses in my home area Shropshire and im struggling to find any in that area and Can A nvq be done anytime of year or is there a enrolment date, What does the course involve can i study from home ? any advice please

    Good Luck mate.

WRT NVQ's, there are a large variety of ways you can do them.

Some can be done online (My gf is doing one online atm) some have to be done elsewhere.

Give HERE a click and it may be useful for you.

    HTH Mate.

PS i have two Level 3 NVQ's and three Level 2's atm, so if you need any help then send me a PM and ill offer any guidance that i can.

I did my level 3 NVQ at college and then did my NVQ 4 & 5 in the form of work experience/interviews and 20k work related project proving I was managing a team

Most will require that you show your course work in some form of project

It may be worth asking if your employer would be willing to fund and let you have time off to do a part time business degree rather than an NVQ. My wife is currently doing one. More work, but ultimately a much more valuable and universally recognised qualification, as UK employers are stupidly poor at recognising anything other than School GCSE/A-Levels and university degrees (obviously your current employer is more enlightened).
