I would like to think they are ok as years ago I had an XR3i with 139000 on the clock with no issues! If an old design engine can do it I would like to think a newer one can too. I believe its all down to how they are treated.
wait and see m8 no one can tell you as every engine diffrent..........if someone says im wrong its a lie as give me a car ill rage it to death give my mum a car and it will last till it rust to bits lol i say keep it m8 if you looked after it id say she be a good one.only you know how good your engine is keep it m8 if it dies it dies drive it till it dies
yes it is just make sure it gets the right oil every 10,000 miles/12 months, just drive it, it will give no more problems than ANY other car, my first vec I sold it on 178,000 miles THEN the buyer used it as a knock about for some years, I bought it on 70,000 miles but changed the oil every 5000 miles, perhaps thats why the lump gave no trouble.
If it's as good as the 1.8 one it replaced and is based on, and it's properly looked after, I see no reason why not.
Design life is 250,000km. Looked after and driven carefully it should last longer. If thrashed it won't last that long.
Obviously any engine can fail at any time but still!
