    try methylated spirits, worked for me.

    I bought some very fine windscreen glass polish to remove the fine scratchs out. It did the trick and has removed all the residue off the screen. Every now and then I use it as "glass cleaner". But without the need to use the machine polisher.

    i use white vinegar to clean the glass removes all the grime etc £1 at poundstretcher

    Thanks for all the suggestions guys

    Eventually got it off with some acetone (VERY CAREFULLY APPLIED). Then a really good going over with the A.G. Fast Glass that I had bought . .

    All seems OK now, although I'll probably get some new wipers as well, just to make sure they don't cause problems in the future.

    Clean it with AG glass polish(+Wipers), then clay, and treat with the carlack twins.

    Sorted.
