I went to MB-World yesterday and drove this...

Was at Mercedes-Benz World in Brooklands on a corporate junket. Great facility, like a giant MB dealer with extra's. Load's of different models on display from Smart to a Maybach and SLR, plus classics (300SL and a 600 Pullman limo spotted) and racing machinery (CLK DTM, various F1 mockups).

E63 AMG was the track car we got to drive in the afternoon. What a machine, what an engine note. Savage acceleration on the long handling circuit, but like driving your living room round, so comfortable inside. Safety tech in the car is superb too and shown off to great effect on the wet skid pan and straight.

Also did an hours offroad driving in a ML350 CDI. Did some amazing stuff on standard Pirelli road tyres. i was mightly impressed what it was able to get up, down and over with maximum ease. more than once I had to check with the instructor with a - "You want me to go down there??? Sure??"

Overall very impressed with entire facility and would definitely consider going back. You can visit for free and may make an interesting couple of hours for little ones seeing some of the cars and displays, plus the Cinema/simulator they have.

Only downside was the camera I had, has had a problem and the pics/vid's I took have become corrupted, so sorry can't give any piccy's.

We went there about four years ago, it is a great place for any petrol head
to spend the day.

If you ever get the chance go to the Mercedes museum i Stutgart, the place is amazing. Not to be missed.
