Default How much should I expect to pay? Exhaust fitting!

Well after wanting a 2nd exit it's finally here!!

But! After sizing up the job, I don't think I am going to have enough room to do it myself as I don't have inspection ramps anymore

How much should i be paying if i rolled up to an exhaust fitting centre or garage and asked them to bolt it on for me?

i done it on axel stands with my dual exit, was my first time doing a exhaust and found it easy. would of been a little easyer with a garage ramp but was still do able.

If they can do it in half an hour, then no more than £25.

Get yourself over to what used to be Peco Exhausts in Birkenhead. I can't remember what they're called off the top of my head now but they were brilliant when I rolled up first thing in the morning to get my cat chopped out. I was there at half 8 and the car was on the ramps by quarter to 9. If you have the exhaust already then I'd say it would take under an hour, about £50. Just agree a price beforehand. I did when I took mine to them. Was there a few hours because it put up a real fight but the whole lot including the pipe cost £70. Can't fault them at all.

Ever seen Gone In 60 Seconds? Place is like that inside. Looks almost abandoned from the outside but inside, it's massive full of cars on ramps and sitting around.

If you're interested I'll dig the receipt out and find out the proper name and phone number.

Having seen them making up exhausts though and watching them work, I'd be tempted to get them to make up a full exhaust next time!

Feel free, can do nothing but recommend them. What kind of exhaust have you got? Is it just the Y piece and second backbox or the whole thing from front to back?

Done my mates the other day!, borrow a set of car ramps its a doddle! very easy undo drop off & bung straight on job, not sure if the 2.2 has a middle box but the 2.0turbo hasn't & it goes straight on & does away with the cdti middle box & theres no increase in noise, just use the two rubbers from the old cdti mid box for the r/h back box.

It's on, just need to adjust left box as it's abit squiff!

Seems to have a lower note on idle and run smoother
