    Default Key Fob Mystery

Just changed the battery in my 3 button key fob,as it was getting to the stage where you needed to be about 3 feet away from the car for it to work, simple job you may ask ,but not for me it is'nt.
After changing the battery you need to sync the key fob to the car by locking then unlocking right, which is what i did, only now it does'nt work anymore.

?Anybody know what i have or haven't done right.

?Can the battery be tested using my multimeter.it's bin in my draw for 2 years, just a thought.

Have you put the battery in the right way. Sounds silly but I did it once on a past car.

Try it with the old batt back in. Will confirm or rule out possible damage to the fob.

Ok got to the bottom of it, unlocked the car door with the key opened it,the alarm went off
so put key in ignition to see if it would start, and it did,but better still the remote now works so alls well that ends well, just to add theres no mention of having to insert key into ignition before it will work after a battery change...ah well sorted.

Having just RTFM, there is mention:-

After replacing batteries, synchronise remote control: unlock door using key in lock. Insert key into ignition.

That was for Vectra-B models, and the Astra-G/Zafira-A.
