prob after changing egr

i changed my egr valve on my sri 120 but now i notice a lot of smoke comeing from the exhaust when i hit the gas , could someone confirm that this is normal after changing the egr, something like burning of any crap left behind from the old one, will this get sorted after a good blast.

The smoke is probably because of over fueling.What happens when the EGR gets clogged up with crap,the ECU "adapts" to the cars running characteristics.Now that you have put a new EGR valve on the ECU is over compensated for the amount of air it was used to receiving and is still delivering the same amount of fuel it was used to.Hence the heavy smoke.It should sort itself out eventually,and yes,a good "blast" is always a good thing for a diesel.FELIXX.
