confused new exhaust and dpf removal.

Hi im new to this and was after some advice and help, i have an 08 plate vectra cdti sri 150 manual hatch, registered in march 2008 and was looking at getting a full stainless exhaust system from the turbo back so 1) which is better 2.5" or 3" pipe and 2) can you remove the dpf, if so will it fail an mot and will any thing else need to be done to the car or exhaust if it is removed? any help is muchly appreciated.

Your manual hatch shouldn't and probly hasn't got a dpf,it will have a cat bolted to the turbo though.
I removed my dpf from my previous cdti auto and it passed the mot fine.

cdti Auto estates should have a dpf too shouldn't they ?,and when i said to a tech in vauxhall about all cdti auto hatch and cdti manual/auto estates having a dpf,he replied its not 100% proven for all cdti auto hatch or cdti manual/auto estates to have a dpf fitted,i couldn't argue with him as i know no different, only what i read on forums.
