Hi guys and gals, does anyone know how to get the radios out, i have an o3 sxi with the 2005cdr unit and ive got the removal tools but when i take the grubscrews out and insert the tools the thing wont budge any ideas.

I am replacing it with the sat nav unit ndc 2013 with the 4cd changer does anyone know if it uses the same wiring connector as the cdr unit.

    Thumbs up

gently remove the heater panel below stereo, place the "h/unit removal keys" in the h/unit slots(after removing screws), then make sure the keys are FULLY ENGAGED, then with your hand placed inside of the heater panel slot , push the head unit outwards with one hand and do one side at a time, that way you can use the other hand to ensure the removal pins are still fully engaged...
Only push the h/unit out a couple of mm b4 moving over to the other side and doing the same...

    hope it helps.......micky.

What h/u pullers you using kevs? Halfrauds sell a set of Double DIN pullers for a few quid - they work a treat. Have used them loads of times on mine.

Daft question, but are you pushing the pullers in far enough?

Oh, another possibility! The first set of pullers I got from Halfrauds were duff. The hooks on the end were slightly malformed and so never caught properly when pushed inside. I spent frigging ages faffing around trying to get them to work. I looked closer at the hooks and realised they were duff. Go them exchanged and voila!, got it out first time with the new ones!

    Maybe the same with you?

I think Duncan has hit the nail on the head, when I was getting my meter fitted it would not shift, the guy fitting it said leave it I'll pick the feed up from behind the glovebox, he had Halford keys also, might be a better idea to see if Vx sell them and if they are any better, but if all else fails Mickey's trick seems like a goer.

VX don't sell them VV (I tried there first). Even their techs don't have them, they just fashion a set of single DIN pullers to fit the Double DIN!
