Red face Cost of a new clutch?

    Hello ladies and gents,

I've managed to burn out my clutch today - unsure how though as I don't ride it and the misses doesn't drive the vectra!

It was slipping yesterday and today driving over Bulford hill it just gave up. For anyone who noticed the black veccy pulled up on the road alongside Solstice Services, well that was me unfortunately.

Has anyone got a rough price for a new clutch? Vectra 1.9CDTI SRi (150bhp) 08 plate and a part number preferably.

    Regards.

    John

Ouch thats going to leave a dent in my bank balance. 1st the alternator dies, then this! I think its time to say goodbye to the vectra, as much as I love driving it I could build a new one for the money I'm spending on it.

Agreed, you don't get much notice when it goes
Normally when a clutch fails you can still crunch gears manually without the clutch
Sadly I didn't check what parts were replaced when mine went, but they had the car for four days making me suspicious it wasn't actually the clutch facing

I've never had a clutch fail in any other car I have had

hi I had done clutch and dmf last year
cost of clutch and dmf kit from eurocarparts was 404 quid and somebody charged me 200 for fitting, however mine dmf was rattling and thats the only reason why i did it also that was done at 128 k and my car is a taxi fromy 7k onwards, so urs being 08 plate seems a bit strange.......
