The paint on the front is brand new, How long should I wait?
Any tips on washing? Got a mit, got 2 buckets.
The paint still feels 'soft' too, is this anything to worry about?
Meant to ask last night, but forgot! I was tired!!

Hmmm, when was it painted?
id leave it a few days or maybe even a week, this will give the paint chance to harden fully. Oh and as for the washing, go with the mit and 2 bucket method, this will save you getting swirls on your new paint.
HTH Matey
Most places use an oven to dry the paint so should be tough and ready when released back to you. But if its soft then maybe (well i dunno run out of ideas here lol) it needs a couple of weeks to harden if its left to dry in open air without heaters???
I'll fetch the hairdrier.
I mean the wifes hairdrier.
lol
I would leave it a good few weeks to harden properly
I thought yours was a hairdryer mate...lolOriginally Posted by Andrew's SRi
If you have new paint which has not been baked in an oven you MUST leave it for at least 2 weeks, don't wash it or anything. Try to avoid parking in direct sunlight as this can cause crazing and cracking of the paint.
Rain water is good for hardening paint, but as said above avoid anything harsh esp wax and cloths for 3 weeks, should be as hard as it's going to get by then, should be able to give it a rinse inbetween, but dont use washing up liquid *salt* or cheapy sponges, and use only the lightest effort if you do need to wash the car.
