    It is a genuine scam that re-appears every year, but these latest emails that are going round about it are complete rubbish. There is no system in the Uk telephony system that can charge you £315

    The most any number can charge in the Uk is £1.50 a minute, the phone call lasts for 9 minutes (if you're stupid enough to ring it up in the first place and even more stupid to stay on the line for the duration) making an absolute maximum of £13.50 possible charge.

    A quick check on snopes.com (worth bookmarking this site if you get a lot of these crap mails) shows that the version that used to go round claimed £15 a time (which even then isn't true) and basically someone's stuck another 3 on the beginning and started another panic mongering scam.

    It's catching soo many people out it just shows what a gullible lot the human race is. You're now the fourth person this week I've explained this lot to lol
