Default What should be included in the service and how much?

    Hi there guys,

I was looking for some help and you all look like you know what you are doing. :-)

I have a 53 plate Signum 3.2 auto, it has 41000 on the clock and needs a service. I am going to get the plugs, cam belt, oil fuel air and pollen filters changed. Is there anything else that could do with changing whilst I am there and how much should all of this cost?
Oh and what type of plugs should I get? There are different types out there and I cant figure it out.

I have a friendly mechanic who can do all of the work for me I just dont know where to get all of the stuff from.

Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

When was the last brake fluid change?
If it was two years or more, then add that too

Visit your local VX parts department and ask for a service pack, but you will then need to add all those other items to it; spark plugs and cambelt kit

So is it best to just get the parts from the dealer? How much to fit them do you recon?

    Default

A basic service is about 30 to 45 minutes; oil, air filter, pollen filter
The rest is a further 30 minutes of checks; suspension, steering, lights, doors, brakes, etc
The spark plugs would then add a further 30 minutes
A cambelt could be about an hour, someone with more experience will no doubt advise
A brake fluid change would a further 30 minutes
In total you are looking at about 2 hours labour; dealership would be about £120, independent about £80

I personally always use OE parts, but you could use after market parts
This would save you between 10% and 25%
