    Angry Rear door problems

    HI,

    Want to check the best way to open a rear door.

    Have the child locks on the rear doors so the kids cant break free & now the handle on the outside has stopped working. (probably pulled handle too hard)..

    How do I open the door to get at machanism????

    NEED HELP>>>

    Michael Cain used explosives

    If my memory serves me correctly I think the door handle pulls on a metal rod that then opens the latch. If the rod has come off the handle you may have to take the door handle off and see if you can manually pull the rod. Having said that I thing you actually have to open the door first and undo a screw to take the handle off. A bit of a catch 22!

    You may have to try to taker the door card off to get to the mechanism but doing that with the door closed would probably mean taking a hammer and chisel to it as there are 3 screws at the bottom of the door which you wont be able to access without the door open. AAARRGHH Tricky one!

    Perhaps call the dealers and ask them if they have ever done one and get some tips from them?

    Your gonna have to try get the door car off without opening the door. If you try removing the door seal you may be able to get to the screws at the bottom of the door card?
