How much to get a new valve fitted on a tyre.

Hi all,

Just got my wife a new car, which appears to have a slow puncture due to the valve.
Any ideas how much it might cost for removal of tyre, fit new valve and refit tyre?

£10-£15 I'd have thought. I'd try a small back street garage rather than a chain (Kwik Fit etc).

Should be about £8 price of a valve and balance

They wouldnt even need to take the tyre off or ballance it.

Just let the tyre down, break the bead where the valve is and use the machine to push the tyre down and change the valve.

Done it loads of times and takes about 5 minutes.

Shame your not closer.

Is it the valve stem itself, or just the valve core? If it's just the valve core, then unscrew and replace it.

take it back to the garage where tyres where fitted if it was recent they will do it for free

Cheers for all of the advice. Tyre was on the car when I bought it.
Will pop to the local tyre place today, see what they say!
