    Default headlight problem?

    right here goes my problem when revving the car slightly and letting it run back to idle the headlights dim down well when i say headlights i actually mean most of the lights on the car (2003 vec sri 2.2) what could be causing this? faulty earth strap?

    helps in solving this would be great

    I think you might find that with all the lights on you are using loads of power and that's what's causing the dimming.It's like they flicker/dim when you turn the steering wheel when the car is standing,thats because of the power being drawn off by the power steering.FELIXX.

    any cures? diesel battery? or will i just have to live with it?

    check the running voltage at the battery with engine running, lights on, hrw on, heater on, in fact anything electrical on, and see if you got 14volts, maybe early warning of alternator on the way out, in which case a bigger battery wont help. In most cases the bigger battery is primarily there for more cold cranking amps, to start bigger engines in colder weather.
