Does the Vectra C have a Multi-Timer Unit?

Doing some online research onto an electrical problem I'm having with my 02 Vectra C, I've come across someone who had exactly the same problem on an 01 Vectra B.

It was suggested that the problem might be down to the misfunction of something called the multi-timer unit, situated below one of the fuse panels. However, I can't find any reference to this on the Vectra C.

Was this unit fitted to the Vectra C or was it discontinued with the end of the B-series? If so, is there a unit on the C that does a similar job? I'm not entirely sure what the multi-timer was supposed to do.

The car is going into the garage tomorrow, so I'd like to give them any pointers that I can. Intermittent electrical problems can be a real pain to sort out.

What are the problems you have is this a starting issue?

This actually relates to a post I made a week or two ago about a power cutout to the electrics that you posted on. The car is a 1.8 petrol.

The online research I've done seems to show quite a number of people who have experienced exactly the same problem, both on Vectra B & C's. Unfortunately, I've not come across any sound reason as to why it's happening. I tried running the car on the drive this week and the power cut out happens even when it's stationery. The really weird thing is that whilst many of the electrics cut out, the headlights and tail lights all come on, even though the switch isn't turned.

One person talking about the problem on an 01 Vectra B suggested that it might be the multi-timer as apparently a number of fuses/relays were routed though the unit and when it started to go, it would fire off random signals.

Trouble is, with a problem such as this, I've got a feeling that the garage may come back to me and say the fault is untraceable. No fault code is being registered.
