I take it the temperature gauge in the speedo housing registers 90°C or thereabouts?
yes it does but it takes ages to get hot tho and its not like normal car heating tho
Sounds like the thermostat needs replacing then if it takes ages for the engine to get up to temp.
do u know wot it look like and price thanks
Depends on the engine and are you going to do it?
my engine is a y20dth i am thinking about doing it myself
Thermostat could be a problem, but there is a way to warm your car a little bit quicker, on very cold days.
My experience with automatic climate is the following. When you turn on AUTO on 28 C or HI, then the temperature almost never rises, because the coolant temp sensor records the temperature is too low and do not turn FAN on for a long time. Therefore, it is much better to use manual control and set the fan on 2 or 3 and the temp on 28 C. It 's recommend to use recirculation, becouse already slightly warmed air continues to heat up.
If there is fog windows, turn on the DEF only a minute or two and the problem is solved.
This is the way I heated the cabin and it's certainly better to get slightly warm air from ventilation, but none.
This is 2.2 DTI I'm talking about. Petrol engine heat up much faster, at least I think...
