ive got 2 ...a 1962 normal two and a quarter .and it is great ...then ive got the orange one in my pic <<..wich is a 1970 3.9 v8 on carbs running range rover diffs out runs a lot of cars ..plus is great off road ..did take a bit of enginering to iron out some bugs i had with it .. the sound is awsome too ... i payed about £1300 for it free road tax gue to age and it costs me £99 fully comp to ins a mgb and the two landys on a multi car package normally about £20 for the pay and play days big tyres are legal aslong as there not dumper tyres the sj's are good but soon get boring so landy is the next option ,,old series and range rover classics are the best for cheap fun rides .loads a defenders about and every one and his pikey scum bag brother wantsto steal them ....

Im into off-roading too, as Benny says above the early ones are the best !! An early defender may be badged as just a 90 or 110, etc so keep an eye out.

Not sure why you posted this in styling?? (now moved)

If you mean are the tyres road legal then yes they should be if they have a speed rating, We used Bronco Grizzly Claw tyres on our off roader when we had it..

big tyres not a problem providing they do not protrude beyond the wheel arch, i.e if they stick out further then they become illegal and the nasty men will get you
