    Default Recommend a headset

Looking for a headset to use at night as an alternative to playing with the sound off in order to keep the peace. Any recommendations? Been looking at a few at Comet/Argos etc. but a lot of them list as when being used via TV sound will only come through one earpeace, is that right?

Depends on the TV. If it is an old mono set, you will only get sound in one ear, if it is amodern stereo set you should get stereo sound.

Hmmm pass, although the TV's only 12 months old so I would imagine the later of the 2.

If your connecting directly to the PS3 or Xbox I hear the best around is the Turtle Beach headsets.... 10/10

Full stereo or 7:1 cinema surround (perfect for COD)

I want one of these as well...

I take it you're using a console (X360 / PS3)?? If so there are loads of headsets for gaming, Triton (Madcatz) and Turtlebeach are among the better options with prices ranging from £40 upto £180'ish, You can also get virtual 5.1 surround headsets that come wired or wireless. Gameseek have loads listed, although they might not be the cheapest place to buy from..
    Have a look here

There's quite a few headsets out now Steve that are just as good, if not better than TurtleBeach's top of the range, Triton from Madcatz (makers of the official Black Ops Headset etc) are a worthy contender..

Would love to know how you can get 5:1 or 7:1 cinema sound from a set of head phones!! Sounds like nonsense to me.

The keyword being Virtual Surround Sound not real Surround Sound. 5.1 Headsets / Headphones have been around for years..

At the moment I use 5:1 cinema surround with the PS3 250GB slim

Q Acoustic 1030i fronts and 1010i rears with Denon AVR1910 amp. This exact setup below which I really think is good for the money:-

Turned up it sounds like Vietnam in a full battle when playing Black Ops

So probably need something a little more quiet...

I can really recommend sennheiser. An excellent German audio headset company. I got a gaming headset (£65) but they do different headsets for different usage. They supply alot to the music industry as well I believe.

A bit combersome to have all that strapped to your head though
