Question Wing Mirrors Not Operating Correctly

I have already replaced the Window/Mirror control module in the drivers door but problem still exists.

When the button for the left electric mirror is pressed, the controls work fine, however, when the switch is pressed for the right mirror as soon as i press any of the dirrectional arrows it moves both the left and right together...... How and why?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Robin

Had facelife since Nov 2006. It has always been the same till now.

    Quote from handbook:

    Adjusting exterior mirrors:
    Four-way switch on driver’s door
Press switch for left or right hand mirror:
    four-way switch operates the
    corresponding mirror.

Are we all thinking this might be a common problem now?

My 53 reg (registered Jan 2004) didn't do it.

My 06 reg (registered July 06) operates both mirrors when the drivers one is selected.

I think it's been mentioned on here that the configuration can be changed via Tech2 so each mirror can independatly be operated if you so wish. It really doesn't bother me as I rarely alter the mirror settings as I'm the only driver of the car. It is handy when parking though as you can lower both mirrors at the same time to see the white lines, and put them back to the same setting afterwards without having to change the switch over or alter each one separately.

You must have an very old handbook. Here's the difference between what a 2003 and a 2004 handbook says.

As quoted from the 2003 user manual,

Adjusting exterior mirrors: Four-way switch on drivers door
Press switch for left or right hand mirror: four-way switch operates the corresponding mirror.

and a 2004 online users manual

    Adjust exterior mirror
If the drivers side mirror switch is pressed, the four-way switch adjusts the drivers mirror and the passengers mirror, and if the passenger mirror switch is pressed, only the passengers mirror is adjusted.

This says the same thing in my Mar 2006 handbook.
