    Default What next...

ok guys, in my quest to achieve 200bhp from my dti, i want to know what else i can do before going for a remap.

    So far i have done:
    Carbon airbox
    Intercooler upgrade
increased bore and smoothed intake pipework
    Decat
    Straight through exhaust
    2.5" downpipe

What big or little mods can i do to tweek it further before the remap. I dont want stupidly expensive mods but list them anyway lol. Engine conversion is not an option by the way.

Im thinking of maybe doubling the horsepower if i can.

    Thanks in advance

I'd be tempted to start looking at methanol or water injection but I'm struggling to find prices. Turbo from the 3.0 diesel? Remember seeing that mentioned before.

you can only fit the 3.0 turbo to the 2.2 dti, and that requires work, its a completely different setup

I believe the only real difference is the fact that the 3.0 turbo is water cooled. I can't seem to find any information on this conversion.....and i've look many times

That already seems like it will be a lot of work

Water methanol injection can give up to 40bhp of not more and cost only about 250 quid

Nitrous oxide can give up to 150bhp depending on injector size and injection tine etc etc and is about 500ish quid and not cheap to refill either

Propane gas conversion can give any where from 30bhp plus but done properly is safe nutron blew his up using propane I think but that was a gas bottle and pipe directly in the intake pipe lol

The dti is not going to be that great as your not getting the fuel pressure a commonrail can get as they are upwards of 50000 psi in the injectors that's one hell of a pressure

the dti has huge potential as its a relatively unfettled engine but its just not easy unleashing it all. I agree about the fuel pressure but im sure with pump modification it can achieve common rail pressures
