    Default engine nearly cut out

hi all, drving back at the weekend, only been driving for 5 miles and was probably doing 60-65 mph in 6th gear when the car kinda juddered or felt like it was gonna cut out, lasted for about 3 secs, all i did when it happened was take my foot of the accelerator, any ideas anyone?

started the car up after work today and nearly straight away it went very lumpy and thought it was gonna cut out but again it didnt?

the 2 related maybe? any ideas please as im worried for driving along at 65mph with the kids in the car

Vacuum pipe? That normally puts it into limp home mode though. Did you get the spanner icon come up on the dash?

I am gonna give a guess and say the throttle position sensor is the culprit.

Mines done that too and like yours it's an 04 plate have a read through the following links:

    1.9 CDTI Throttle Sensor Poll

    How2 for Fixing Fault

Get the codes read first as there will be some stored and I wouldn't be surprised if the following codes came up:

    P1125 and P0638.

P0638 is the one you're interested in as that is the result of the defect identified in the How2.

Is it the 3rd injector wiring fault. That would cause the symptoms you have described. Do a search for more info

Mines never m8. But the fault was there, tech2/Op com will show it as not present and Vauxhall may try and tell you the pedal is faulty - but get the faults read and take it from there.

If the TB is at fault, the break in the solder joints is making the control unit for the throttle position sensor think you have switched the engine off. This causes the plate to 'close over' as it does when you switch the engine off.

I wouldn't say you are at this stage but if this is the fault - the car will become dangerous to drive. Mines started out like a small misfire then it got to the point the car was shutting down on me. What is happeing - again if this is definitely the fault -is the throttle plate will be closing over partially. This is the 'flat spot' or lack of boost/juddering you felt.

Out of interest I take it this typically happens around the 2,000rpm mark but happens anywhere else in the rev range?
