    Default Shell V Power

Hi guys, just walked past my local shell garage today and was having a nosey at the pumps to try and see the price of Optimax, i couldn't see it listed But what i did see is lots of adverts for Shell V power. and a new label on the pump for V-Power, Optimax was no where to be seen. The price of this V-Power was 94.7p per. So i looked on the web and discovered that this is the replacement to Optimax and has a higher octane rating at 99 ron as oppose to Optimax which was 98 ron.

At that price i think i'll be getting myself a tank full, hope its just not an introductory price.

Has anyone else tried this yet?

It`s released on the 27th, and will be a bit more expensive than optimax !! so must be an introductory price, bet my bottom dollar it will be an optimax mix for the first month until the tanks are clear of old stock ..

I seriously hate that garage! Went ages ago and used a diesel pump which had no auto cut off so diesel flooded out all over my and my car ... no customer service what so ever ... all I got was a dodgy bar of used soap and some paper towel to use in their filthy loo. Over a year went by and I decided to try them again ... pumps were busy and ended up at the same pump ... guess what ... no auto cut off AGAIN Grrrrr ... at least I got them to pay £2 for their jet wash that time!

Anyway V Power ... I was reading about that today while filling up and it says you can join an 'exclusive' V club to win stuff like track events and what not if you are a plus points member and fill up with a certain amount of the stuff ... where is V Diesel that's what I want to know!

V Power has supposidly got some **** in it to clean you engine as well,

    1. Shell V-Power contains Shell's unique Friction Modification Technology (FMT) as used by the Formula 1 Ferrari team in their 2006 racing fuels. This is designed to help the engine turn more freely and improve performance.

    2. Shell V-Power has an octane rating of 99 RON, designed to provide more power and improved responsiveness in many modern cars.

    3. Shell V-Power contains a powerful cleaning formula designed to improve engine responsiveness by removing power-robbing deposits, helping the fuel to burn more effectively

Filled up with V Power on the A19 just outside Sheffield,on the way back to Middlesbrough from France, about 7:15pm 23rd August. Have also got a bottle of Nitroux doing the rounds in the tank, but the fuel does seem more responsive. As i've often run with a Nitroux/Optimax or Tesco 99 ron mix ,and since i've given her a couple of runs up and down the A66 today i can tell the difference.
I believe a few reports slagged Optimax for claiming to be more than it was so i suspect this is Shells response.
I only fill up with Tesco 99 ron,or Optimax, and they seemed in full promo flow at the garage with the attendant in a V Power sweater, and got a leaflet on it as i paid £1.01p a litre.

    Oh aye it is....
I had one of those days when i just wished someone was with me in the car to confirm wether or not i was imagining the poke in the throttle.I'm running an O5 2.2SRI with a BMC Filter on the newish Castrol Sport Oil,which already seems to have made an improvement, but the engine is just there now all the time,no flat spots in 4th,and i completley killed an A3 1.9CDTI Earlier. Hmmm other user feedback would be interesting, would be nice to have my feelings confirmed....
