For a pre facelift? Nope. Tried 4300k bulbs hoping the whiter light would make a difference but nope, still crapo. Hids are teh only way to make an improvement.
Ring extreme, 100% brighter bulbs were 10 times better than standard imo, i didnt want the trouble of fittin hid kit plus abit skint so got these for about £16 for pair and they was alot better. Hope this helps
Bulbs are false economy anyway... tried loads, but eventually stopped being lazy and bought HID's...
The bulbs are not the problem unfortunately, they're projection headlamps and the cut off is just too severe.
I have 80w rally bulbs for dip and 100w for main beam.
They are part of the halfords rally range, alot better than standard, plus the car went straight through the MOT!
I use the Halfords extreme Brilliance 55w xenons.
Obviously not as bright as Rally's or HID's but better than standard bulbs.
Also think about raising your beam slightly (takes 2 mins) I did this and that dark area is gone now when driving in the country. I always switch the beam back down again when driving around town.
There is a how 2 for this. Just make sure you dont muck them about too much or it's a MOT Fail!
I would be careful the loading the bulbs require dosn,t melt the wiring.
Whilst there bulds are illigal for road use, if they are set correctly and don,t dazzel, then you probably would get away with them. I used to use them many years ago in a motor I had. They were supurb and as they were set correctly no one got dazzeled. Then when I changed that car. I put them in the "new" motor, only to notice when the lights were switched on, the grease on the battery terminals was starting to smoke. So to be on the safe side I took them out.
