    Default cd70- broken screen???

Hi all, i'm going to look at an 06 vec 1.8 sri nav tomorrow, it has the cd70 head unit but the nav screen is cracked and not working.
    What are my options?
can i replace the screen on it's own?
do both have to be replaced?
can i swap it for a normal sri screen as i'm not bothered about the nav?
    thanks...

the screen would have to be paired up to CD70 whatever one you put in, £40 upwards for that before you have even paid for screen

Could you ask the price for that cracked screen? I want the circuit board for testing my CID mods...

I can reset the CD70 for you if you want...

That's assuming it is a CID... CD70 can come with either the monochrome GID or the colour CID....

Incidentally, what you can do, is get the screen from a display (of the same type).
Swap the screen itself onto your existing display circuit board, and you won't need to mess with Tech 2.

I did this with my GID....It started to lose pixels,so I bought a screen from fleabay and transferred just the LCD display over...No Tech 2, and no issues

True, but for the color TFT itself i am sure there is none available in uk (at least from amazon/fleabay/RS components/Farnell/maplin/dealer)...

For the GID yes it's wise to swap the lcd rather than main board...
