Default Items stolen from recovery yard.

    Long story short.

Other halfs car written off on M4 last Sunday - car towed away to Walls recovery in newport. Car moved to Copart on Thursday.

Went down to pick up the personal stuff and to remove stereo and several things are missing.

    These are:

    Ipod - suprise suprise
Bluetooth GPS reciever - for sat nav on my phone

and a ****** golf brolly of all things.................

Reported it to co part, they say contact Walls - who say the car was not touched and no idea.

Bearing in mind the car was straddeled across two lanes and the police would not let her retrieve anything at the scene what should we do?

option 1 - report to police and try to claim off insurer
option 2 - claim off insurer?
option 3 - be grateful she is alive and drop it because all their going to do is deny eveything?????

Also it was very obvious the car had been "searched" - open sungalsses holder, things moved and such.

sorry to hear this mate, obvioulsy option 3 is a given but i'd still report to the police.

thats a couple of hundred quid worth of stuff gone missing, you might get stuff back you of compo, but if you dont ask you dont get.

people can be allowed to get away with taking other peoples stuff, especially when they are the ones supposed to be looking after your property!!

option 2, but also write to both co's with you list of stolen goods, you never know they may be aware of staff stealing, but worth putting on the record imo.

Thought so. So annoying but I am glad they were left as if she had gone back and was hit...........................

Its weird as I am OK with the loss of stuff - you know oportunity - ipod plugged in left on seat - but the GPS was in the glove box and other stuff opened which suggests actively hunting for stuff to knick.
