late model cdti autobox faults?

thinking of changing my 05 manual for an automatic, hopefully an 07/08 year, I know there were issues with the earlier model gearboxes with coolant seals etc, just wondering if Vx cured them on the later cars,
could really do with an auto and love the vectra.
anything else goes cn go wrong with the automatic I should look for?

The problems with coolant in gearbox was sorted in 2004. The later boxes from 2005 came as 6 speed autos and seem to be reliable enough, although it doesnt mean something wont go wrong as thay are quite complex pieces of kit (as with any auto).

Check for smooth gear changes in all gears (no judders/bangs inbetween gear changes).
It will NOT be as smooth when the engine/box is cold.
Check the tiptronic works as it should...again it might not be as smooth as in full auto mode.
And of course kickdown operation. HTH

mines comeing upto 40 k miles 07 autot n love it had since 6k miles make sure you get it remapped because untill you do setting off is very slow then bang power have remap and goes well from standstill
