Default New to old car, would you?

I've been debating this for quite a while whether my next car I should go for something with some more power but an older car, when I say older I mean quite a bit older. For example a Nissan 200sx around a 96-98 model, now most will have a fair few miles on them but parts wise will they cost an arm and a leg when or if they were needed? Would anyone here fancy getting an older car?

Even them 350z dont go for a great deal and can pick up a bargain like 7k, FSH 30k miles in mint condition.

R33 are very nice indeed, just did a compare the market and a 2.0T insignia works out cheaper than my 1.8 by £180.....

I used to refuse to drive anything made after 1986. Sharknose BMW's, 200/700 series Volvo's, even Vauxhall Royale coupe's. Easier to fix, cheaper to insure, and no complicated electronics to stuff up.

Must admit I would rather do a bit more easy maintinance myself than have to pay a dealer rip off prices for a code read. A nice MK 1 or 2 Granada or Escort, I used to have an RS1600 mk1 when I was 18 with a Swaymar 3.1 dropped in, It sounded fantastic with twin side exhausts. couldnt afford a good one now
