Many thanks.

what switch is that mate
Guessing it's what dis-engages the cruise control when the clutch is pressed?
why u need to get to it ?> ................u need to remove the pannel under the steering colum ......... if your cruise control isnt working it will be the clutch pedal return spring that is broken and it will need a modded part fitted to fix it ....
Or the stalk that controls the cruise control...
Thanks guys - it is because of the CC.
The stalk is Ok, took that out and cleaned and tested Ok.
But the CC still drops out.
I have the Clutch return spring in and it's working fine, so i can only assume that the switch on the pedal is faulty (or something else) so i'm going to try that first.
Benny - you said i need to remove the panel under the steering column - is that the one above the pedals? Cheers.
yep mate ..has some screws along the lower edge and just bellow the colum lower cover ....
Many thanks. I'll try that in the morning when sober....
It is quite likely that the switch just needs adjusting.
Once the switch is located, press the pedal down fully, then pull the plunger of the switch fully out. This is an exercise in flexibility, and the plunger is stiff to move against its ratchet.
When this is done, release the pedal, and the switch will be heard to self-adjust.
Cheers for the help guys. I've removed the switch on the clutch! (what a ******* to remove) nearly did my back in! I cleaned it and then refit. Also had a look at the brake switch (same as clutch switch) and cleaned that too.
Been on a 1/2 hr drive and the CC hasn't dropped out once. So i think the problem was either clutch or brake switch (but doubt it was the brake).
Happy once again.
