What is this bolt/pin from?

I found this when cleaning leaves from my scuttle panel, it was trapped beneath the driver side window wiper pivot, but it doesnt seem to have any purpose and seems a very very strange place to be for a part that may have come loose.

It read on the thick end "C2", it's unthreaded and appears to be steel.

Im thinking maybe a door pin that'd been replaced or something similar?

Any ideas?

I don't recognise it myself, nor do i think i have any problems with my car what so ever; but i'd like to know for certain to put my mind at rest that my bonnet or simialr isnt about to fall off!

And if its simply road debris, i've been lucky! I bet it would have been like a missile should it have hit the glass at 80!

Unless it's something someone has been using as a punch / drift in the past and has left there ?

that could be possible as it was located in such a manor that it would be there as a temporary resting place for it, however it got lost?
