    Default Redundancy assistance

    Hi all,

Does anyone here have any relevant experience of the proper legal procedures that the employer has to follow as I had an initial "your position is at risk" meeting and know this is going to be a sham as no matter what I think I propose I will still end up being made redundant.

Need clarification on the 30 day thing the need to attend the procedure and if they can change the venues at will and cause me severe inconvenience? and just what happens as I have never been here before in almost 28 years odd working for lots of companies.

I would get in contact with C.A B and see what they advise.

Thanks to everyone, makes me MAD! as i am second top salesman in the companywith two trailing me but they are saying that they are making the "geographical position" redundant and that is me! it is a sham as I must have offended someone i.e. the MD but cannot fathom how or when!

I am going to see the CAB in the morning, but there is nothing like others who have been through it.

The first 30 days is a consultation period which they have to give you so that you can air any ideas which would avoid your position being lost. If they then want to make you redundant they give you a further 60 day notice of redundancy. This in total is the 90 days which they legally have to give you. IIRC.

Hopefully you can sort something out mate.

Think that applies if it is over 20 redundancies being made at the one time.

I think you are right I think Gazza4,,,, it is a 30 day process from date of being initiated at the consultation meeting, my contract of employment entitles me to a months salary plus my unused hol's, unless they make me a more generous offer, however the whole thing stinks of constructive dismissal to many folks and this is the issue I want to pursue at the C.A.B. tomorrow.
